In this comprehensive article on car hire the Daily Mail pointed out several ways in which car hire companies extract money from customers through hidden charges buried in the small print of their rental agreements.

The article contained a range of really useful tips for holiday makers to follow at each stage from booking, collecting and dropping off the vehicle.

One of the main features of the article was the cost of car hire excess insurance offered at the rental desk which the article points out can cost more than the actual rental. The paper rightly pointed out that many people are not aware that there are cheaper alternatives available online and that customers are under no obligation to take the excess insurance offered by the renal company and are free to buy elsewhere.

The article recommended both our daily and our annual car hire excess insurance policies, urging customers to plan ahead and buy car hire insurance before arriving at the rental desk.
