Travelling to France?

If so, don't forget to pack a breathalyser. Strange advice perhaps but a new law has come into force with means that all cars, including foreign ones, must carry a single use breathalyser to make sure you're legal on the roads or you could face a fine.

The Institute of Advanced Motorists recommends carrying two breathalysers in case you're stopped and have to use one.

Drivers in France are already required to have a red warning triangle and a hi-visibility tabard (vest).

Also if you're hiring a car don't forget to get your car hire excess insurance in advance to save up to 70% when compared with buying the hire car company's policy.
