iCarhireinsurance is the registered trading name of Halo Insurance Services Limited, which owns and operate this website for the purpose of providing insurance products.

HALO Insurance Services Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (firm reference number 504629). Our permitted business is the sale and administration of general insurance products in the United Kingdom and throughout the European Economic Area (EEA). You can check this on the FCA's Register by visiting the FCA's website www.fsa.gov.uk/register/* or by contacting the FCA on 0845 606 1234. HALO Insurance Services Limited acts as Administrators for the insurer, Allianz Global Assistance Europe.

General

A customer is deemed to have accepted these Terms and any other notices posted on the iCarhireinsurance website, by using the iCarhireinsurance service.

We provide a fully online insurance service, designed to save you time and money. We will endeavour to find you the most competitive quotes and provide you with the necessary information to make an informed choice on which policy suits your needs. We provide insurance products but do not offer advice. We will ask you questions to help provide quotations, and you will then need to make your own choice about how to proceed.

After completing an online application form on our website, you agree that you will receive an email from us. This email will confirm you have used our website and that you have purchased an insurance product. You cannot opt out of receiving this email.

Website content

We have taken every step to ensure the information contained and displayed on our website is accurate and up-to-date. However, we can accept no liability for any errors or omissions. We reserve the right to add, amend or delete content from the website at any time.

These rules are subject to changes and revisions by iCarhireinsurance without prior written notice.

iCarhireinsurance will strive to respond to customer enquiries as soon as possible, usually on the same business day and within a maximum of two business days.

It is strictly forbidden for any user to tamper with, manipulate, or apply third party resources to affect the standard operational use of the iCarhireinsurance website or application software. Legal action may be taken in the event of such misuse.

Customer Responsibility

It is the personal responsibility of customers and visitors to this site to ensure that they understand and comply with their local laws and regulations pertaining to purchasing insurance as these laws and regulations may vary from country to country. It is not the intention of this website that it be used by a customer in any jurisdiction where it would be contrary to local law or regulation.

Customers should print out these terms and conditions, the Key facts document, policy wording and certificate of insurance that come with your policy, and keep them in an easily accessible place.

If a customer does not comply with the terms and notices specified on the iCarhireinsurance website, the customer's policy may be suspended or cancelled.

iCarhireinsurance will provide you with quotations based on the information you have provided to us. If you do not provide information and answers that are true and accurate and disclose all relevant facts, your insurance policy may become invalid and claims may not be paid. If your insurance is invalid, you could also be liable for any third party costs in the event of an accident.

Before accepting a policy it is of the utmost importance that all the information the insurance company holds on you is accurate. It is therefore important that you carefully read through the information you provide to check that it is correct and that you have disclosed all relevant facts.

It is important that you read the insurance company's policy terms and conditions to check that you understand and agree with them. The insurance company's policy terms or conditions are not the same as our website terms and conditions and they will be the terms which you will be agreeing to when purchasing a policy.

It is important that you read all insurance documents issued to you and ensure that you are aware of the cover, limits and other terms that apply. Particular attention must be paid to any warranties and conditions as failure to comply with them could invalidate your policy.

If the information supplied by you is not correct, it is your responsibility to identify the mistake and contact us. We do not accept any responsibility to you if your insurance is invalid because you made a mistake in providing the correct information or if you failed to disclose relevant facts to us or to the underlying insurer.

If you have any doubt about whether further information about you, not requested by iCarhireinsurance is required to be disclosed to the insurer, or if you think that something shown to you may be incorrect, please contact us before you accept the quotation.

Third Party Services

iCarhireinsurance accepts no responsibility for any goods or services referred to on its website not under its control. iCarhireinsurance makes no warranties or representations for these services. The customer indemnifies iCarhireinsurance for any loss or damage arising from the use of these goods or services from any third party.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

iCarhireinsurance will not have any liability for any loss or damage without limitation that are alleged to have resulted from the iCarhireinsurance website or its content, including but not limited to, delays or interruptions in service or communication, a customer's or any other person's misuse of the site and its content, and any errors or omissions in content. We accept no liability out of the use of this web site nor of any links that are provided to any third party site. None of the information provided on this website is intended to be used as financial advice or any other advice.

iCarhireinsurance may at any time require the customer to provide documentation to confirm their identity at any time and at iCarhireinsurance's sole discretion. The use of proxy servers, except for those assigned by ISPs for normal use is strictly forbidden. This rule also applies to, but is not limited to, anonymous website proxies and any other means to hide your identity.

Payment

Payment is by credit or debit card and is required at the time you purchase the policy. iCarhireinsurance may, at its sole discretion, cease to provide service or payment to certain users or to users paying with certain credit cards. iCarhireinsurance reserves the right without explanation to refuse purchase from any customer.

Refunds

Within 14 days of purchase: If you decide that a policy does not meet your needs, your premium will be refunded in full. If however, within the 14 days and/or since inception you have travelled, made a claim or intend to make a claim, or if the policy has started, then the premium will not be refunded.

After 14 days of purchase: If you decide to cancel the policy after 14 days of purchasing, then no refund or premium is available. If, however, your policy has not incepted, then your premium will be refunded in full minus an administration fee. Refunds are calculated in accordance with the policy terms and conditions and will be refunded to the card from which the purchase was made within three working days of the cancellation being processed.

Changes to premiums

We reserve the right to change the premium charged for a policy at any time without notice. This does not affect customers who have already purchased a policy.

Correspondence

By using this site you acknowledge that our principal means of communication is via email and therefore it is incumbent on you to ensure that we have your current email address. Any notice sent will be deemed to be delivered at the time of sending it. It is every customer's responsibility to inform iCarhireinsurance if there is any change to this address.

Amendment

iCarhireinsurance reserves the right to amend the information on this website at any time and without prior notice. The Terms and Conditions may be amended at any time and iCarhireinsurance will provide notice of such amendments by posting the changes on the website.

Suspension of Service

iCarhireinsurance may suspend trading as a result of circumstances within or outside its control. iCarhireinsurance will not have any liability for any loss or damage without limitation that are alleged to have resulted from this suspension of service.

Complaints procedure

Halo Insurance Services Ltd and Allianz Global Assistance Europe aim to provide a service that will give no cause for complaint. Please use our informative Complaints Procedure to ensure you have peace of mind

Recommend a Friend

General Terms and Condition

  1. The iCarhireinsurance Recommend a Friend scheme can be used by any user of the iCarhireinsurance website provided that they, and the person that they are recommending are both over the age of 18
  2. Referrals not submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions may not be processed
  3. By providing the email address of the friend (the referee), you (the referrer) confirm that you have the consent of the referee to provide that email address so that we may contact the referee and yourself by email in conjunction with the iCarhireinsurance products and services
  4. The referee may be sent an email using the contact details you have provided to us in relation to this scheme. You will be identified in the subject matter of the email to let your friend know that you initiated the sending of the email to them.
  5. The referee and the referrer may opt out of any marketing communication at anytime by any of the following routes
    1. Emailing Customer Services Send Mail
    2. Completing the contact form on ContactUs
    3. Clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email that we send
Forum
  1. Forums, chat and content submitted by users
    1. By submitting any material to us, you :
      1. automatically grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, modify, edit, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such material (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed for the full term of any rights that may exist in such content; and
      2. waive all your moral rights in such materials.
    2. You acknowledge that we are not obliged to publish any material submitted by you.
    3. You agree not to post any material:
      1. that is threatening, defamatory, offensive, abusive, liable to incite racial hatred, discriminatory, blasphemous, pornographic, in breach of confidence, in breach of privacy; or
      2. for which you have not obtained all necessary licences and/or approvals; or
      3. which constitutes or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise be contrary to the law of or infringe the rights of any third party, in the UK; or
      4. which is technically harmful (including, without limitation, computer viruses, logic bombs, Trojan horses, worms, harmful components, corrupted data or other malicious software or harmful data).
    4. We will fully co-operate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity or locate anyone posting material in breach of clause 8.3.
    5. Please note that any posting of information in these forums is the opinion of the person posting only and in no way reflects our opinions or attitudes. We operate an open forum and you follow any recommendation that you find in the forum at your own risk.
    6. We don't monitor the use of the chat forums or our comms systems, so we do rely on you to inform us if you spot any abuse or inappropriate behaviour, in which case we will review specific postings. If you feel you have been threatened, damaged or abused in our chat forums or via our comms systems that we operate or if you believe any infringement of your rights may have occurred through our site please contact us at customerservice@icarhireinsurance.com
    7. We reserve the right (but we are not obliged) to do any or all of the following:
      1. record the communications in chat forums and comms systems.
      2. investigate a claim that any one or more communication does not conform to the terms and conditions of use and determine in our sole discretion to remove or request the removal of the communication(s).
      3. remove without notice communications which are abusive, illegal, or disruptive, or that otherwise fail to conform with these Terms.
      4. terminate a user's access to post messages to any or all of these areas
      5. monitor, edit, or disclose any communication in these areas.
      6. edit or remove any communication(s) posted on our website, regardless of whether such communication(s) breaches these Terms.
    8. Any decision we make to remove or request the removal of any communication or to terminate or suspend the posting privileges of any user of the chat forms shall be final and binding. The termination or suspension of posting privileges shall apply to any and all user accounts that may have been used by that person, whether or not opened by that person.
    9. If you are notified that your posting privileges have been suspended or terminated, you will not attempt to reregister as a user of the Chat Forum or make any posts on it in any guise whatsoever.
  2. Indemnity
    1. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless us, our directors, officers, employees and licensors from and against any claim, liability, cost, damage or loss we may incur (including reasonable legal fees) as a result of any material that you post or transmit on our communication forums or via our comms systems, any actions you take which disrupt access to and/or the functioning of our site or any breach by you of your obligations under these Terms.
