Skiing can be a very pricy holiday by the time all the added extras are factored in.

The Sunday Express (2 December 2012) looked at just this topic and gave advice on how to 'Take the Edge off Ski Holiday Costs'.

Quoting iCarhireinsurance.com's Cheif Executive, Ernesto Suarez, the article said that there was a "lack of transparency" when customers were booking cars for skiing holidays. "Extra charges can range from up to £60 to hire snow chains, up to £85 to hire a roof rack and an additional £155 to pay for excess car hire insurance for a week". This is a whopping £300 extra on a skier's bill before they've even left the airport!

To save money on car hire excess insurance, we always advise to 'buy before you fly'. Excess policies bought in advance from a specialist provider, like us, is only £2.99 a day. An extra £20 for the peace of mind of covering a hire car's excess, which can be up to £2000, is a small price to pay particularly when compared with the hire comprehensive that the car rental companies' onces.

Don't let those costs snowball!
