Maybe It's Time To Drive Around Britain's Landmarks?!

Land's End marks the northern tip of Britain, Hadrian's Wall is in Cornwall and the Jurassic Coast is to be found in Scotland were some of the answers in a recent survey of British people!

A poll of 1,000 people by Virgin Trains found a particular lack of general knowledge among Britain's young people. More than a third of those quizzed under 30 think Land's End is in the north when it marks the northern-most tip of the country. And a north-south divide really does exist with two in three Londoners unsure about which city is the nearest to the Lake District.

With the 'staycation' now popular, perhaps it's time for us Brits to get to know our own country again?

Remember if you're hiring a car to always buy your excess car hire insurance in advance from so when you're heading to Portsmouth on the Scottish coastline (7% of people thought this is where it is!) you need not worry about any possible damage to the car. Don't forget our policies provide cover in your home country and we don't impose any restrictions on how far you must be from your home address before the policy can be used.

Happy Exploring!
