If you are hiring a car with Enterprise, we can cover you against any excess charges you may incur from the rental company if your hire car is damaged or stolen.

How does Enterprise’s Car Hire insurance work?

When you hire a car with Enterprise, your rental rate includes the following cover:

  • Third Party Liability
  • Damage Waiver (including theft protection)

Damage Waiver protects you in the event your hire car is accidently damaged or stolen. Although, it is included within your rental price, it comes with an excess. This excess is the amount you are financially liable for, should something happen to your hire car. At Enterprise, the excess amount is £1,000 for cars and can reach up for £1,400 for premium vehicles and 4x4s.

This amount can be reduced with the purchase of additional excess reduction products.

Additionally, at the time of payment, you will need to leave a deposit, which is fully refundable. This is fixed at £200 for most vehicles.

What are Enterprise’s Excess Reduction charges?

Enterprise offers an additional excess reduction product called ‘Excess Protection’. This reduces the excess from £1,000 to £100 for most cars. This can cost £19.91 per day*.

Roadside assistance protection is an additional product and can reduce your financial responsibility for the following: tyre and glass repair/replacement costs (except large repairs) replacement key costs and recovery and call out charges. This can cost £7.05 per day*.
